Naked Raku vase (round)

This round Naked Raku fired vase is ideal for displaying dried flowers or having as a centre piece in your home. Due to the nature of raku firing, this vase is not suitable for holding water. Raku process involves heating up the pottery and hand decorating with a variety of horse hair, feathers and sugar to reach the desired effect. Raku is a method of decorating pottery through the application of horsehair and other dry carbonaceous material to the heated ware. The burning carbonaceous material creates smoke patterns and carbon trails on the surface of the heated ware that remain as decoration after the ware cools.
